treMy son is a freshman and he is having a really hard time adding classes. Do freshmen just figure things out on their own or do they get help?
Your son needs to meet with an advisor in his major. Ideally, he should meet with the advisor before the priority registration period starts. Unfortunately, trying to add a class for Winter 2012 after January 14 is a very difficult challenge for any student.
My recommendation is to make sure he contacts his academic advisor before our next registration period which starts February 14, 2012 for the Spring 2012 quarter. If he does not have a major or is thinking about changing his major, have him make an appointment with one of our advisors in Advising & Academic Services. We'll be glad to get him ready with classes for Spring. Call (909) 537-5034
